Until death do us apart

p/s: Still thinking to work harder and harder meeehh??? Nobody notice you looorrr..! ahaha..Poor guy leyyy..

Ghost in the office

Prior to joining a new company, this guy A was working at boat quay area. In those tall building offices like UOB and such. His office was quite high up the level at least 30 and above. Normally he will have to stay back for OT and in the evening, all the lifts will be stopped due to security reasons. Whenever he wanted to leave, he will need to call the old security uncle to activate the lift from ground floor to his level. Then the uncle will send the lift up.
After sometime, he left the company and joined another place where his office also very high up in the building. Hence if do OT, also need to call uncle to send lift up. Then it came the day that he's working OT for the first time at the new place. He stayed back till 12 plus am and When he's about to leave, he called the security uncle to send the lift up. After packing up he went to the lobby to wait for the lift. He waited and waited. 10 mins passed, Lift not up. He waited for another 10 mins and call the security uncle. S denotes security here.
A: Hello Uncle ah, have you send the lift up?
S: Yeah sent liao.
A: No leh I been waiting for 20 mins liao leh
S: No meh? okie okie I send again.
Another 5 minutes went by. No lift came up. The guy got worried. He's the last person to leave and there's no one around. He called the uncle on his handphone again.
A: Er... Uncle ah, you sure you sent the lift up?
S: Yeah I sent it up twice liao leh.
A: But I saw the lifts all on the first floor leh!
S: Aiyoh. Nevermind. I take the lift up and look for you. Again,
A waited. 5 minutes passed but none of the lift are moving. Then suddenly, his hp ring. The uncle voice was on the other side of the line sounding very weird.
S: Where are you? I am here. But I cannot find you.
All this while A was staring at the display of the lifts. All at level 1..... and the uncle is here.... shit something is not right. A straight away chiong to the stairs and dashed down the building... When he reached ground level, he chiong to the security counter and he found out that..............
He had actually called the old security uncle in the building of his ex- company and not the security uncle of his new office -_- He work till siao liao and was damn blur. Feeling very pai seh, he also never call back to explain to the security uncle from the building of his ex- company. Blur cock and poor uncle. He must be the one who actually freaked out going all the way up and saw no one there hahaha
Moral of the story - dun work OT lah!!

Tales from the Court

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.
ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.
ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget.
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something youforgot?
ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you thatmorning?
WITNESS: He s aid, 'Where am I, Cathy?'
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!
ATTORNEY: Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo?
WITNESS: We both do.
ATTORNEY: Voodoo?
WITNESS: We do.
ATTORNEY: You do?
WITNESS: Yes, voodoo.
ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-one-year- old, how old is he?
WITNESS: Uh, he's twenty-one.
ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: You're kidding me, right!?
ATTORNEY: She had three children, is that correct?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Are you shitt'in me? Your Honor, I think I need a differentattorney. Can I get a new attorney?
ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Now whose death do you suppose terminated it?
ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Guess.
ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a depositionnotice, which I sent to your attorney? WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on deadpeople?
WITNESS: All my autopsies are performed on dead people. Would you liketo rephrase that?
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Huh.....are you qualified to ask that question?
ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you goto?
WITNESS: Oral.
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing anautopsy on him!
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in hissleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
--- And the best for last: ---
ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for apulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when youbegan the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law NOW --> that's hurt man!! haha
p/s: I can still smile even i've read this for so many times..Don't u think so?ahaha.

Hasrat Sang Suami

Seorang suami sedang mencari-cari helah untuk membolehkan dia berkahwin lagi. Antara alasan yang diberikannya:
Suami : Lelaki kawin 3 baru lah sah
Isteri : Kenapa pula?
Suami : Cuba terjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Inggeris, "satu" is one, "dua" is two, "tiga" isteri (is three). Baru betul dan sah!.
Isteri : Tapi abang kena faham Bahasa Inggeris, terutama tentang "singular" dan "plural"
Suami : Berkenaan apa tu?
Isteri : Satu tu "Singular"; dua atau lebih "Plural"
Suami : Contohnya?
Isteri : One car sebagai singular, two cars sebagai plural. Apa bezanya?
Suami : Ohhh... tambah huruf "s" untuk yang plural
Isteri : Betul tu. Sama juga la untuk abang
Suami : Macam mana pula boleh sama?
Isteri : Satu isteri abang MAMPU , jika dua isteri dah jadi plural, Maka abang MAMPUS tambah "s" je, kan?
Lepas daripada tu, si-suami tidak pernah lagi berceritakan hasratnya untuk berkahwin lagi...
p/s: ahaa..hambik ko! yelah tu tak berani!

Summary: The Blood of Flowers

From a recent blogs that I visited, if I were to write the summary of this charming tales, somewhere somehow might not as details as this one. Thanks again to this unknown friend!

In 17th-century Persia, a 14-year-old woman believes she will be married within the year. But when her beloved father dies, she and her mother find themselves alone and without a dowry. With nowhere else to go, they are forced to sell the brilliant turquoise rug the young woman has woven to pay for their journey to Isfahan, where they will work as servants for her uncle, a rich rug designer in the court of the legendary Shah Abbas the Great. Despite her lowly station, the young woman blossoms as a brilliant designer of carpets, a rarity in a craft dominated by men. But while her talent flourishes, her prospects for a happy marriage grow dim. Forced into a secret marriage to a wealthy man, the young woman finds herself faced with a daunting decision: forsake her own dignity, or risk everything she has in an effort to create a new life.

During the 17th-century in this region, it was a male-dominated society. It is still this way in many Middle Eastern countries. In this novel, a young girl watches a comet shoots across the sky, and when it has passed life begins to change for her very drastically. She should have been finding her husband and moving on with her life, but her father dies unexpectedly and suddenly her and her mother have nothing. She has no dowry to find a husband, and they have no one to farm for them, so they are just barely getting by. A kind man comes to the village and asks them if there is anything he can do for them, and the mother implores him to track down her deceased husbands half-brother in the hopes that he will take them in and help them get back on their feet.

When they move from their village to the rather large Isfahan, life changes drastically for her and her mother. Suddenly they are not in control of their own household, and have to take orders from the wife of their father's brother. She is not very sympathetic, and looks upon them as new slaves for her household. She does not really know anything about domestic work, but she does have ideas about how it should be done. They live in riches, but she is always afraid that there will not be enough, so she is always looking for opportunities to gather more wealth for her husband. Her niece opens up what she hopes will be a great business venture when a wealthy man asks to marry her. It is not a regular wedding, though, the marriage would only last for three months, and then he can request more time with her every three months after that. It could turn into a regular marriage, but in the process she will lose her virginity and this can jeopardize future relationships. It is a chance that her mother is willing to take because it will give her money. Her aunt wants it to happen because it could meet more business for her rug-making husband.
This book is about a girl in a very strict culture wishing for something more. She wants to be a rug-maker like her uncle, but that is not an opportunity that is allowed to women. Her uncle helps her, though, teaching her the tricks of his trade and allowing her to help him. When things get complicated with her marriage arrangement, she must decide on a safe course of action or one where her safety net could disappear. She has to decide whether her own future is more important than the safety the marriage is currently providing her with. This is a book about a girl that dares to break the rules of her society to better herself and live out her dreams.

Recommended: The Blood of Flowers

Trust me, this book really enchanting and beautiful. I must say that I rarely find this kind of book easily and from now, I’ll start looking for this type of writing. Tired to search for novels with the real tales inside, I found out this novels really have its own fire. Normally, with my limited time, I might finish one book quite sometimes, but not this time. Of course, it is nothing to compared to my excitement if I got any reading materials (doesn’t matter it’s quality..belasah je sume!) during my study time, where I happily to skip my meals and sacrifice my time to sleep to finish it one shot.

Reading to this tales, makes me feel very grateful for what I’ve been now. The tales is written in a very real and conscious way, nothing like “only two of us lives in this world” or “Nobody understand our love story” or something like “having a very bad stepmother + abused + very poor but very beautiful and smart (eventhough smart people also don’t know how to protect themselves ~ yerkkhh~) and then the prince will save you” type of story. The life of a girl aged 14 years there is very different from what we have now. At aged 15 (obviously still below 21), they already become a devoted wife and mother. What do we have here, in Malaysia??? girls run away from family, followed their love ? heroes from L*****? rempit? tendang cikgu kat skool? aiiyaaakkk....pening kepala parents nak pikir.

To those who really to become more MATURE THINKER/person (ahaha.. like me can arr?), this book might be one step for you to begin improving your mind! Ahaha.. Kudos to the writer, Anita Amireazzani, as this is her very first novel published and yet able to expose her ability successfully.

Money vs Holiday (pre eid-fitr)

I would say that my Hari Raya celebration this year was really testing my physical and mental fitness. It forced me to think not only twice, but yet again and again. Maybe it was small conflict for some of you but given with all the limited time, information and resources (or shall I say money?), I found that it is hard to make some live-or-dead decision. For instance, one of my conflicts before hari raya was the application for raya leave.

This one is quite annoying problem as it is under the uncertainty situation, where at first, fstep didn’t let us to take any leave and simultaneously they informed to all the FIs’ HR ~ not to let us taking any leave during hari raya. Come on! that’s really aggravated!! as we know, u know and they all know that that Friday (read 3rd day of raya), majority of the Malaysian were still take off for holiday (90% were malay, of course). No works, no people and the cafétaria also will be closed (read DANGER and CRITICAL). Yeap, I would understand if we are in probation period, or just start working, for sure we will not ask for any leave. Yet, it turns out that our program (read fstep) was in our 8th or 9th month, without any leaves (except the 2 days as we finished our classes because nothing to do while being there looo) it is really tiring and exhausting.

And to make thing worse, the tales (read rumours) about our leave kept growing amongst the fstepians. I shall say that the most rumours I ever heard for a very short time would be during this fstep program. Everybody is like knowing something, but either u can trust it or not.. hehe..better be careful as it is from A said that B recalled C told ….(hollaaa..at last u never know who said what). I think that might be a true news but we know, the program (read... u know what to read) always had this ‘surprise’ OR last minute changes, thus don’t believe anybody until u heard or being told by the program coordinator by himself/themselves, and if it is turns to be wrong again.. u better stab “someone” (read Mr/Ms X or him/her). Afterwards, maybe because the huge tensed or urges from various FIs’ HR, the program (read management) concluded that our allowance shall be deducted IF we want to take leave! (Whoooaaa…ugut nampak?! Haha..). Tolak la…who cares (deep in my heart, I do care sikt la).hoho.. My advise to employer outside: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF INTERNS, and don’t give options la whether to choose holiday or money, that one-day allowance deduction, because of course we will stick to take that “precious” holiday! Hahaha… That’s really happen as almost all participants of the program (read ….) especially malays didn’t think twice eventhough allowance will be deducted accordingly. Uhuhu..seems like money lost to the holiday in this battle. At first, I didn’t influenced by the others to take leave. What to lose? After all, I’m Selangorian whatt??? However, when che decide to go back to Ganu earlier, I have to sacrifice my 2 day allowance la..ahaha..a bit “kupik” la, ya lahhhh….sehari RM 100++, huhuhu… Finally, I took 2 days leaves for hari raya celebration this year. Is there anything to lose? Not really except the money!! Who’s winning? I guessed this time… holiday won! Next time..dunno yet! ~sigh~

p/s: Final announcement from them (u know who), they wont deduct our Friday’s allowance as government also holiday loooo… ahahaha..Alhamdulillah, it minimise our loss.

english class after class

Ever been in any extra classes after class? Yup. I’m doing that now, friends. Suddenly the management (or is it the English committee for the English month?) suddenly decided that some of us have to undergo some extra classes for the writing and speaking skills after 5.00 pm. Definitely this due to our non-performance of English communication. As you know, my English is no better and doesn’t show any improvement yet. This should be great time to improve our English, I guessed. However, I would say it rather important to have the right intention for whatever you are doing now because if you don’t have one, you’ll find it much difficult and hard to do it. Somehow it seems like I already skipped about 2 classes due to ‘unavoidable’ condition. (seriously?) haha.. I actually envied to those who are fluent and expert in using the right English. Of course it requires practice (which I don’t do much). I’m not sure what happen to me as previously (urmm.. I mean during those school days) I can easily finished an English novel within 1-2 days. Never mind… hopefully, we (FSTEPians especially my friends & I) will be better in the daily communication after having this class. Pray for us yeah!! Insya Allah.

Till we meet again! daaa..

The Green Mile

Dear,

No matter how many times I watch this film, I still can be ‘touched’ by the plot. I already watch this film almost 7-10 times, but I believe I still can watch it from the start until the end again and again. Yes, of course this is a very old movie (is it that old?) Surely does as Tom Hanks was very tough and young at the time. Haha.. I’m not really sure actually. Forgive me.

This film tells about the ‘magic’ in man, or also called the ‘force of nature’ in one man, name John Coffey (very big black man). Because of his physical appearance, he has been accused to murder 2 little girls as the villagers found him crying out loud holding that 2 little girls dead bodies. What people don’t know is he actually too late to save the girls. And, to make the story interesting, John has been pleaded guilty and sent to the death sentence (electric chair).

The story is basically just around E Block, where it placed the ‘death sentences’ convicts including John Coffey, Dell (and his Mr Jingles), Wild Billy (the real murdered of the girls) with the wardens; Paul, Brutal, Harry, annoying Percy and another one..(I just can’t remember his name right now). The green mile is actually the last path that leads to the electric chair room. Why they called that final path a green mile? it just because the floor is lime green in colour. This film able to touch your heart when it actually shows to us when the innocent being accused/guilty for what he had not done, surely you will feel terrible and guilty for what he had to take. I just don’t know how to tell you the story, but I WOULD LOVE TO SUGGEST YOU TO WATCH THIS FILM ONCE! Forget about all the ‘crappy films’ cintan cintun..tangkap muat sume tu.. Layan film lama pun berbaloi la kawan… hehe.. But, it truly depends on individual interests, however..please do give appraisal to a really good movie. That’s how our film industry should response to our need, dear.

See ya’

p/s: any good movies to recommend?

Journey to FSTEP (pt.2)

The continuation from the previous part…

Journey (should be adventure) with Rapid KL bus

After one week using KTM as my main transportation to FSTEP, then I shift my mode of transportation to the Rapid KL No. E65 (Central Market – Alam Mega). I surely will tell you this, the experiences using bus to KL everyday is very tough..and it makes u appreciate if you have any vehicle at home (I said any right?, but not including ur babies walker of course!). During my journey with Rapid KL, I woke up quite early.. abis lewat pun kul 6.15am because I have to wait for the bus at the roundabout in front of my house (pukul 12 yerk!) and it’s quite far u know. The bus supposedly will show up around 6.45am – 6.50am.. If u missed the bus, u r required to be terrorist, push anybody (or should I used everybody) inside. And during this ‘theraphy session’ , banyak kali gaks la ‘terkepit’ dan ‘mengepit’. Haha.. So, those who are direct or indirectly involved dalam aksi kepit mengepit nih… hahaha.. thousand apologizes ok! Haha.. Alrite, here are some key points or conclusion that I get throughout the journey. Maybe u guys can apply some of these tips:

· Almost 85% from the total passengers of the bus are ‘foreigners’. It’s worries me, but still we don’t have the right to judge people, right? They are same as us, we wake up early and so do them! Let it be fair ok! However, it makes u more conscious of the people surrounds you and makes you more careful.

· Still… u will not feel safe at the Bus Stand Klang.. no matter how mane policemen they put there scatter. Maybe what I’m thinking of is if something happen to me, then it’ll be too late for the policeman to take action. Until now actually, I don’t really like to be in KL area “walking”. So, sorry for friends who want to invite me ‘makan angin’ di KL.huhu..

· There is an incident (or should I use ‘accident’?.) Ahaha.. during one of my journey to KL, two “stylo” men..(Indonesian ~ please don’t feel offence) took the same ride with me in that morning. However, because the bus was already full of people, they have to stand. Unfortunately, these 2 mamats stand in front of me.. At first, I’m not aware of anything happen in front of me but suddenly I just realize that there was uninteresting scenery in front of me. Waahhh… sangat meloyakan dan mengembangkan tekak! Segan nak cakap kat sini.. Tp, my advise too the fashion freak out there.. kalau nak pakai seluar londeh pun, jgn lupa dipakai ‘adik’ yg didalam tu! If taknak pakai pun…make sure, u dah ‘ganyoh’ ngan berus besi harta anda tu!! Chessss… hilang selera ku hari tu! Huhu.. another advise is… TOLONGLA JGN BAYANGKAN CERITA DIATAS!!! Huhu..

·

Till then first.. don’t have enough ideas to continue la.hehehe..

Journey to FSTEP pt.1 (KTM)

I don’t know how I’m supposed to design my blog, but I belief my blog is a place where I can throw out anything I had in my mind at any time, anywhere. I’m neither politician nor artists to comment on the arts, but I do have some interest over politic and nation development, but not taking part aggressively.

Everyday, I went to KL, not because I want to but because I have to. I have to do that doesn’t means I don’t like what I’m doing now but I certainly means that sometimes I prefer to do that and sometimes I prefer not to do that. We are FREE MAN right? Haha.. But for a long term, I knew my time in FSTEP now will be one of my SWEET MEMORIES I have later. Thus, I would like to share some experiences throughout my journey to KL everyday, starting from 7th December 2007, obviously it is last year.

Journey with KTM

Previously, I took Komuter from Shah Alam to Kuala Lumpur, almost everyday, but for a week only. I have to take 6.45 am train everyday. If not, I have to be a fish in a sardine tin..and it’s really annoys me.huhu.. So, everyday abang or che kene antar gi KTM at most 6.30am / 6.40am.. But, Raihan is always Raihan kan?? also well known as ‘latecomer’ mehhh… Jadi, selalu nya asyik terlepas train je. Hahaha..those who know me, will definitely understand. The cure is unknown till today. OK, jgn terpesong.. actually I want to share with u guys.. what did I learnt during the journey. Let’s call it as tips if u want to consider KTM as ur main transport k!

  • If u missed a train, please call ur colleagues and let them punch ur card first, because the next train is like forever.
  • It is normal, and like a routine that everyday, there will delay or even cancel trip, especially when everybody are waiting for them. Cissss..
  • Be prepared with ur face mask..(full face helmet also OK) if you want to take KTM in the morning & evening, especially if it 7.00am and 5.30pm… Aroma yg menusuk.. original perfume what!!haha.. Other than that, masa ni… it feels like u want to start a rugby game..haha.. horror man!!!
  • Never ever expect you can reach on time … please schedule ur time about 2 hours buffer.hehe..
  • When u enter the train..u’ll see all the passengers, yg berjaya duduk..will close their eyes, konon2 tidur la tu… haha… mesti takut tertengok org tua/pompuan hamil/OKU…nnt kene surrender seats diorg kan.. so, baik pura2 tisur..so, takdela nampak kan?!! – budget org tak tau la tu!!

Hehe.. those tips are based on my own experiences and some of friend’s. Not to criticise on our public transportation.. But I wonder, why KTM services is still not well improved, since 1995.. the same complaints are being forwarded again and again.. Is this a some sort of strategy or ..just another Malaysia Boleh??

a little scene from parliaments

My personal view:
Really looking forward to watch the next “Sidang Parlimen” (LIVE ok). I wonder why the Shaberry Cheek cuak sangat sampai terus nak stop siaran langsung tu. Biasalah..nama pun sidang parlimen. Tapi bila mereka menggimikkan seolah-olah MP are not professional enough to be on air..ehehe.. Come on la, selama ni pun..dalam previous sidang parlimen pun, takde la professional mana pun MP yang ada. Habis-habis professional pun, duk melangut adela..takpun tido..takpun seat kosong (memang busy habis MP ni..)..paling hebat pun..sume setuju je. Yelah..kalau nak object or bangkang, ade plak kene tindakan tatatertib. Opssss… MANA MENARIKNYA ?? Hopefully, with more than 1/3 MP from the opponent party will make everybody keep alert and let their heart beating faster. Semua isu akan melibatkan semua MP, tak boleh tidak..siapa yang pasif sangat tu..macamana nak membela nasib rakyat? Baru nampak buat kerja sket! Then, we people will know..who really fight for the nation or not! WE SUPPORT LIVE ON AIR!! ahaha..then, the next election we vote again, because… UNDI ADALAH RAHSIA! Ehehe..

p/s: Bigfoot or Big Monkey is not the issue here, please laaa..!! What are u afraid of sirs?

bukan salah big foot atau big monkey!! mereka difitnah..tp mereka redha je..huhu

Escape To Kalumpang

FROM KALUMPANG WITH LOVE (27/04/08~Sunday)
I never heard a place called Kalumpang, until Yuenna (currently PTD) suggest us to have "peace of mind" over there.. haha..the great thing is... when u really want to hv some release from ur normal routine..there will always a way. Thus, for this time.. I'm definitely will make myself available, even if i have to fight over dragon or swimming to cross the ocean, which 110% i'd guaranteed will not happen. ahaha..

Located near Tg Malim, i think it'll take about 1-1.5 hours from Shah Alam. Not too far..the distance are acceptable. When we reached there,it's already full with the other people. So, we don't have much options than to pay RM5 to enter a private place for us to have a nice weekend picnic with friends.

9 of us,the fivers2k smapians, namely cik amie, cik syada, cik najem, cik yuenna, cik ups,cik emon, cik taqo, cik etock and of course me myself cik an have succeed to reach Kalumpang. And not to forget..thanks to our Wira's driver and also Swift's driver for ur cautious driving skill that make us reached there safely. Luv u both.. muahh..muahh.. Eventhough we are only 9 girls (still girl aa??), but the "bekalan masa depan"..huhuhu... rase nya..tambah 8 org lagi pun still mampu tampung! ahaha.. Want to know 'bekalan maa depan kami'?.. let's see:
Sandwich sardin + sandwich telur (left behind) + bihun goreng + nasi lemak + garlic bread + mushroom soup + keropok + junk foods + BBQ (paling best) + tembikai + oren + apples + choki2 + ...etc. ( can't remember unless see the pics again!). Nak terburai tali perut rasa..haha..

The picnic is really fun, however.. here, in Kalumpang also..has created my own history also as i almost "fainted" twice. Actually i never fainted or 'gelap mata' bukan mata-mata gelap! or so on before.. so, now i know what it feels when... u heard nothing, u see nothing..But i can tell u that it doesn't feels good at all. any question?

Guys, some tips to develop your presentation skills, in handling questions from the audiences. Try these yeah!

The content of your speech or presentation is important, but how you handle questions from the audience can often be the deciding factor in how your presentation is received. These handy hints will enable you to handle questions with ease.

1. Be prepared for questions. When you write your presentation, think about what you are likely to be asked and what your answer is going to be. You may not want to answer a particular question there and then, so think about what you will say to satisfy the questioner.

2. Make it clear at the start. You may decide to take questions as you progress through the content, or at the end of your presentation. Whatever you decide, make it clear at the start. I would suggest questions at the end in a short presentation. And always remember, an audience will not forgive you for taking half an hour when you were only scheduled to speak for 15 minutes.

3. Never end with questions. It is far better to ask for questions 5 or 10 minutes before the end, deal with the questions and then summarize for a strong finish. Too many presentations finish on questions and the whole thing goes a bit flat – particularly if there are no questions.

4. Listen. When asked a question, listen and look like you are listening. It may be something you had heard before. Treat the questioner with respect and do not trivialise his point.

5. Thank the questioner. It is only polite, it shows respect and it gives you a bit more time to consider on you answer.

6. Repeat the essence of the question. Some people may not have heard the question, in which case your answer may not make any sense to them. It can be irritating for them not to have heard the question. It also gives you more time to think of an answer and makes it look like you are in control.

7. Address everyone. Do not fall into the trap of answering only the questioner. If they happen to be near the front, you could have end up having a conversation with them and exclude everyone else.

8. Keep it simple. Many speakers become more relaxed by the end of the presentation and the fact that someone is interested enough to ask them a question, leads them to go on too long with the answer. Don’t be long-winded and keep the answer precise.

9. Do not bluff. If you do not know the answer to a question, say so and find out. Suggest that you will phone him or email him with the answer. It can even a good way to make further contact after the presentation.

It is possible that you may not be asked any questions, leaving you with awkward silence. People may be thinking about what you have just said and may need more time. They may also be a bit shy to and may have to take a few minutes to speak up. Why not have a question of your own and say something like: “You may be asking yourself…?” If you still fail to get any questions then go straight into your summary and closing statement.

Handling a Question-and-Answer session well demonstrate your professionalism and reflects on your message.
